Baked Apple Pie Rice Paper Rolls

Quick and rather easy to make dessert. With only 5 ingredients, you can whip these baked apple pie rolls (or turnovers) and impress your guests and family.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 apples
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • cup light brown sugar
  • rice papers
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil  (for brushing the rolls before baking)

For garnish - optional

  • honey
  • pomegranate seeds
  • powdered sugar

Instructions
 

  • Set the oven to 170°C/ 350°F with the fan.
  • Peel and cut the apples into small cubes.
  • Place the apple cubes in a pan and cook on high for few minutes.
  • Add cinnamon and sugar to the apples and mix well.
  • Cook a few more minutes until the apples soften.
  • Set aside to cool.
  • Prepare a plate with a bit of water and another plate on which you will roll the rolls.
  • Dip one rice paper for a few seconds in the water and move it to the empty plate.
  • Add 2 tablespoons of the apple filling in a line.
  • Close the 2 sides of the paper on the filling and roll.
  • Continue steps 7-10 for all the rolls.
  • Place the rolls on a baking pan.
  • Brush the rolls with vegetable oil.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes.
  • Cool at room temperature.
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar, add pomegranate seeds, or drizzle honey if desired, or just garnish as you wish.
  • Serve and Happy Holidays!
