Ingredients

  • cups lukewarm water
  • 1 tablespoon dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups whole spelt flour
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  • In a stand mixer bowl place, the water, dry yeast and sugar, mix well and let it sit for 10 minutes until you see small bubbles and the yeast starts working.
  • Attach the kneading hook and add olive oil, flours and salt and knead for 5 minutes.
  • Grease the bowl with more olive oil and let the dough rise for an hour or until it doubles in size. Make sure the dough is covered with oil completely.
  • Divide the dough to 16 small balls and roll each one of them to a tight ball. Place the buns on a baking pan lined with baking paper.
  • Let the buns rest for 15 minutes.
  • Set the oven to 200°C / 400°F fan.
  • When the 15 minutes are over, bake the buns for 20 minutes until lightly golden.
  • Cool the buns at room temperature.
  • Have a bun and enjoy.
