Chocolate Hamantaschen Recipe

Purim traditional cookies with a chocolaty dough and filling. Double chocolate hamantaschen cookies that are easy to make and taste delicious.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup (140 grams) flour
  • 5 tablespoon  (50 grams) powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 stick (100 grams) butter (cold, cut to cubes)
  • 1 egg

For the filling:

  • 1 cup white chocolate spread

Garnish:

  • Sprinkles

Instructions
 

  • In a blender bowl, blend the flour, butter, cocoa powder and powdered sugar until it becomes a crumbly mixture.
  • Add the egg and continue to blend until the dough starts to unify.
  • Shape the dough into a disc-shape on baking paper and put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  • Take the dough out of the refrigerator and roll out on a floured surface.
  • Using a glass or a round cookie cutter, cut circles out of the dough.
  • Fill each dough circle with 1 teaspoon of white chocolate spread and close the dough into a triangular-shaped cookie.
  • Sprinkle the sprinkles on the filling
  • Place the cookies on a baking tray.
  • Place the baking tray with the cookies in the freezer for 30 minutes.
  • Heat the oven to 170°C / 350°F with the fan.
  • Bake the cookies for 14 minutes. Check them after about 10 minutes to see if they are ready, and if they are, take them out.
  • Indulge with a coffee or cup of tea and happy Purim!

*For the filling you can use any spread you like, such as peanut butter, jelly, milk chocolate spread, Nutella etc.
