Marble Cake Recipe (Parve Dessert)

Ingredients
  

  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract/paste
  • 2 tablespoon cocoa powder

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 160°C/ 325°F on fan mode.
  • In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except the cocoa powder and mix until smooth.
  • Divide the batter evenly into two separate bowls.
  • Stir in cocoa powder into one of the bowls until fully incorporated throughout, keeping the other batch plain vanilla.
  • Grease a loaf pan with cooking spray before adding batters randomly to create an appealing marble effect when baked together as one cake!
  • Bake between 45-50 minutes at the desired temperature. Check it for doneness by using a toothpick stuck inside that comes out clean upon removal from the oven.
  • Allow it to cool down completely at room temperature before slicing up and indulging!

Notes

*To make the cake vegan you need to replace the 2 eggs with ½ cup applesauce.
