A few weeks ago, my blog entered a Facebook challenge and won two OSMOS bowls from ZAK Design Europe! Via this post, I am using the small bowl I won because the size is perfect for this Green Smoothie recipe. Plus, the bowl’s marble design is very chic and trendy - which definitely doesn’t hurt!

Smoothie bowls are all over the internet right now and I just really wanted to try it for myself. Besides the fact that the bowls are seriously beautiful, they offer an added health boost! Let me explain how.

Green Smoothie Bowl garnished with kiwi and seeds

After having this smoothie bowl for breakfast, I really felt energized and I believe that it is a good way to start the day. After having read many recipes online, I learned that the main idea of the smoothie bowl is to add fruits and/or vegetables with milk (or vegan milk), sweetener, some healthy fat (I used avocado, you can also use nut butter) and seeds or more fruits for decorations. See, it’s the bowls serving size and the addition of healthy foods that makes it such a healthy option for the morning.

Moreover, a smoothie is super easy to make so your morning won’t be consumed with making the perfect, healthy breakfast to kick-start your day.

Here’s an added tip for you too! If you freeze the fruits, when you blend the smoothie, it comes out a bit like ice cream. And guys, do I really need to point out how tasty ice cream is?!

This green smoothie contains spinach which makes it green, avocado, milk, maple syrup and a frozen banana. For garnish I added kiwi and some seeds for extra healthiness.

You can create any combination that you’d like, try your very own and share it with me on the comments below.
