Calling all beet lovers! I’ve recently noticed a new trend popping up on Instagram with some crazy beautiful pictures and it’s just what beet fans are missing right now - Beet Latte!

Just like the matcha green tea drink, this beautiful pink beet latte has such an appealing look. I had to try it and now I’m a huge fan!

Like most people, I love coffee and can’t function without it but I also like to explore new flavors and recipes, just like any foodie. Now, this drink may be called latte but it has nothing to do with coffee, actually. It is simply a great alternative if you are looking for something other than coffee or tea to drink all day long. Since it's not made with coffee, it is free of caffeine and that's already a better solution. It does have a beet flavor that you can taste so if you’re not a beet fan then you might be disappointed here. This earthy, healthy taste may not be for everyone, but if you’re open-minded then why not give it a try?

Beet Latte Drink in a cup

My beet latte is made with beet powder, boiling water, sugar, and foamed milk. I make foamed milk with my Nespresso milk frother, or with my battery-operated handheld frother that you can see in the video. However, you can create the foam any way you like.

Additionally, you can add any kind of sweetener like sugar, brown sugar, honey, maple syrup, etc, or with no sweetener at all. It’s up to you but I do recommend adding a bit of sugar.

You can even whip this drink up with beet juice instead of powder and water but you need to warm it up first. Another option is to cook a beet and make a puree. I think I chose the easiest way as it doesn’t involve any cooking efforts or spending hours in the kitchen for one drink.

Beet powder can also be used as a healthy addition to smoothies or other dishes and can be a natural food color if needed. There are many benefits to consuming beet powder like lowering your blood pressure. And it has many vitamins and minerals and is low in calories and fat. Overall, this gorgeous drink can be the ultimate healthy choice when you need something refreshing!

Lastly, my beet latte is vegan and therefore, dairy free as I used soy milk. You can use any type of milk that you want, of course.
