As the days get colder, we’re all starting to feel much cozier now. Oversized sweaters, beanies, hip but thick scarfs, and don’t forget your Pumpkin Spiced Latte, all this clearly means that we’ve embraced Fall and are gearing up for the even colder winter months. Seeing as how it’s colder, you’re most likely spending more time indoors with your loved ones, which means you need a sweet treat to better enjoy the weather at hand and the fact that you’re trapped indoors. That's precisely why I prepared this easy recipe for chocolate bark.
Maybe you’re thinking chocolate bark doesn’t sound like a Fall treat but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Just because it’s colder doesn’t mean you need to consume hearty meals or sweets, but rather the opposite. You need a healthy mixture of heavy and light meals and snacks for balance in your diet.
Moreover, during the holidays, you often have guests over and are exchanging gifts, that's why this easy recipe for chocolate bark can be helpful in those moments. I think that homemade or handmade gifts are the best gifts you can get, especially when they are also edible.
Chocolate bark is simply melted chocolate with any topping that you like which is left to set and then broken to pieces. The toppings include fruits, nuts, candies, different chocolate flavors or savory snacks.
For this recipe, I chose to add pistachios, pecan nuts, and sesame seeds. You can really go wild with flavors here, try sweet and savory flavors together and see if you like it.
I used dark chocolate for my chocolate bark. The dark chocolate is a classic taste that every adult will love, even if they swear they're not dark chocolate fans. If you are making the chocolate bark for kids, it is better to use milk chocolate or white chocolate, as they are sweeter, and then top it all off with any topping that the kids will love.
After the chocolate bark is all set and ready, simply wrap it with nice transparent wrap and give as a gift. Or you can just enjoy this Fall treat yourself!
