As Passover approaches, the joyous celebration of freedom and tradition calls for delicious treats that honor the holiday's significance. These Passover Chocolate Chip Cookies perfectly blend the essence of tradition with the irresistible allure of homemade sweets. Made with simple ingredients that adhere to Passover dietary restrictions, these cookies boast a delightful texture and a burst of chocolaty goodness in every bite.
Passover cookies
The recipe this time is a delicious Passover chocolate chip cookies but in reality, these cookies are perfect all year round. If you avoid eating gluten or are looking for an easy cookie recipe, then this is your go-to recipe for sure!
With only 4 ingredients, you can easily whip these cookies and after a very short time, you can munch away! Unlike store-bought Passover cookies, these ones are soft and chewy. If you have some vanilla extract then you can add a teaspoon to elevate the flavor of the cookies.
The main ingredient in these cookies is almond flour or almond meal. Basically it is almonds ground very fine and in many Passover recipes, you can find this ingredient. Because this recipe doesn’t call for special Passover ingredients like matzo meal for example it is very easy to bake all year for anyone on a gluten free diet.
Like almost all cookie recipes on my blog, you only need 1 bowl and a tablespoon to make these easy cookies. If you prefer changing the chocolate chips to something different then you can use raisins, other nuts or just stick to chocolate chips - everyone loves chocolate!
On top of it all, this recipe is non-dairy so it’s parve and you can have these chocolate chip cookies as your holiday dessert or for a Shabbat meal.
Like always, if you have a big family and need more cookies then simply double the ingredients. This year a lot of people are alone for the holiday and therefore don’t need a lot of cookies but still want to have a small little sweet treat.

Tips for Passover Chocolate Chip Cookies:
Almond Meal Consistency
Ensure that your almond meal is finely ground for a smooth texture in the cookies. If you can't find almond meal, you can grind whole almonds in a food processor until they reach a fine, flour-like consistency.
Sugar Selection
Use granulated sugar that is certified kosher for Passover. You can also use a Passover-approved sweetener like coconut sugar if preferred.
Egg Binding
The egg in this recipe serves as a binding agent. Make sure to mix it well with the other ingredients to achieve a uniform batter. If you have an egg allergy or follow a vegan diet, you can try using a flaxseed or chia seed "egg" as a substitute.
Chocolate Chip Options
Opt for kosher-certified chocolate chips to ensure they meet Passover dietary guidelines. Alternatively, you can chop up a Passover-friendly chocolate bar into small chunks.
Baking Time and Temperature
Keep a close eye on the cookies while they bake. Since ovens vary, the baking time may slightly differ. The cookies are ready when they turn golden brown around the edges.
Cooling Process
Allow the cookies to cool completely on a wire rack before enjoying them. This helps to set their texture and prevents them from crumbling.
Storage
Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. If you're making them in advance, you can freeze the cookies for longer shelf life. Just ensure they are properly wrapped to maintain their freshness.
Customization
Feel free to customize these cookies by adding chopped nuts, dried fruit, or a sprinkle of sea salt for an extra burst of flavor. Get creative and make them your own!
